The Kamen Rider Gotchard series will focus on Chemy, a living creature that is a replica of anything in the world such as grasshoppers and steam locomotives. Houtarou Ichinose, a high school student who accidentally got involved in the incident, is given a mission to collect Chemys and transform into Kamen Rider Gotchard.

Synopsis of Kamen Rider Gotchard

The technique of “Alchemy” is a pseudoscience that attempts to create “gold” from various different combinations. One experiment to do so artificially revived a race of creatures, and the story revolves around an era where these experiments were carried out in secret.

In the story, artificial lifeforms known as “Chemy”, created to imitate things that exist in the world such as grasshoppers, are created from the finest art of alchemical engineering. Each of them is carefully stored in “Ride Chemy Cards” until they are accidentally released all at once into the wild.

The protagonist, Houtaro Ichinose, is entrusted with the Gotchardriver and the mission to collect the Chemie that have been released into the world. Some are well suited to be human companions and if they resonate with a good heart, Houtarou can fuse with them and transform into Kamen Rider Gotchard. However, those who are influenced by human evil, there is a danger of them giving birth to monsters known as Malgams. This is a story that explores the nature of good and evil, which are two sides of the same coin.

Kamen Rider Gotchard Cast

Some of the cast members who attended the Kamen Rider Gotchard series production presentation were Junsei Motojima as Houtarou Ichinose/Kamen Rider Gotchard, Reiyo Matsumoto as Rinne Kudou, Yasunari Fujibayashi as Spanner Kurogane/Valvarad, Oto Abe as Renge Ichou, Rikiya Tomizono as Sabimaru Tsuruhara, Rikuto Kumaki as Minato, and Yoko Minamino as Tamami Ichinose. Ichinose Houtarou / Kamen Rider Gotchard is an ordinary high school student who is not good at studying but is good at sports. Rinne Kudo / Kamen Rider Majade is Houtarou's classmate, an outstanding student, and a well-behaved young woman who lives a life of solitude but it is just an illusion. Her true identity is an alchemist girl who attends the Alchemy Academy hidden beneath the school. Her father, Fuga, is a great alchemist, but she has mixed feelings about the fact that he stole the Chemy Cards managed by the school and disappeared 10 years ago. She witnessed Houtarou transform into Gotchard and began working with him.

Supana Kurogane / Valvarad is an Alchemy Academy Graduate, he is a super A-class alchemist sent by a higher organization to retrieve Chemy. He is a cool and arrogant elite who considers Chemy nothing more than a tool created by humans. In battle, he wears a reinforced costume that he created himself, called "Valbarad." His catchphrase is "That's not a funny joke."

Renge Icho is an alchemist from Kansai who attends the same alchemy class as Rinne. Her family is not rich and she wants to make her mother's life easier, so she dreams of becoming an alchemist so she can use alchemy to create "gold". She has known her classmate Sabimaru for a long time, and they have a boke and tsukkomi relationship.

Tsuruhara Sabimaru is a brilliant alchemist who attends the same alchemy class as Rinne. He has an intense hatred for humans, and has a sharp-tongued AI named Isaac installed in a tablet he carries around to guide him in conversation. In reality, just like Houtarou, he also loves Chemy.

Minato is a history teacher at the high school where Houtarou attends but that is just an excuse. His real identity is a teacher at an alchemy academy hiding in the school's basement. Although he is a cold and mysterious person, he watches over Houtarou and the other students well and fights alongside them, but suddenly announces the closure of the academy. Glion teams up with the Three Dark Sisters and transforms into Dread. He forces Houtarou and the others to return the rings and tries to erase their memories.

Atropos is the eldest daughter of the “Three Dark Sisters,” a mysterious group that operates in secret using the power of alchemy. They are after the 101 Chemies and Drivers that Fuga has hidden. Despite her appearance as a young girl, she possesses powerful alchemy skills.

Clotho is the second daughter of the “Three Dark Sisters,” a mysterious group that operates in secret using the power of alchemy. They are after the 101 Chemies and Drivers that Fuga has hidden. She has great fighting ability, which is further enhanced by the Dark King, Gigist. She gains the power to become Clotho Rebis, wearing jet-black armor.

Lachesis is the third daughter of the “Three Dark Sisters,” a mysterious group that operates in secret using the power of alchemy. They are after the 101 Chemies and Drivers that Fuga has hidden. She uses a special alchemy technique that is activated by the sound of the jaw harp.

Ryo Kajiki is a boy who is Houtarou's classmate and loves the occult. He is an avid reader of the occult magazine "Paranormal Planet."

Licht Kugimiya is an investigator sent by the Alchemy Union to the Alchemy Academy. He is always polishing his ring. The purpose of this mission is to investigate a spy connected to the Three Dark Sisters, but he is very critical of Houtarou's fight after transforming into Gotchard and the way he treated Chemy. The Kamen Rider Gotchard series aired from September 3, 2023. The series is written by Keiichi Hasegawa, Hiroki Uchida, and others and directed by Ryuta Tasaki and others. The theme song for the Kamen Rider Gotchard series is performed by the rock band BACK-ON titled CHEMY×STORY.
