First Impressions of the First Episode of Ultraman Blazar 2023

The premiere episode of Ultraman Blazar aired in Japan on July 8, 2023. The episode is titled First Wave, directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi and written by Keigo Koyanagi. This episode also marks the first appearance of Ultraman Blazar. Overall, the premiere episode of Ultraman Blazar looks serious and cool both in terms of acting from the cast and its visual effects.

Ultraman Blazar First Episode Synopsis

There has been a worldwide kaiju disaster outbreak, and now a 50-meter-tall space kaiju has appeared. Gento Hiruma leads a special unit to stop the kaiju, but they are caught in a desperate situation. Gento rushes to save his men, but that's when the Blazar Brace appears on his left arm. Under the light, Gento transforms into Ultraman.

The first episode of Ultraman Blazar begins with an operation of a unit led by Gento Hiruma. The unit is called the First Special Mobile Brigade. The operation targets a 50-meter-class reptile-type crustacean kaiju from space codenamed Bazanga. However, the mission does not seem to be going smoothly and Gento Hiruma as the captain takes action to ensure the safety of his troops.

At a critical moment, Blazar Brace and Blazar Stone suddenly appeared and transformed him into Ultraman Blazar. The members of the squad who witnessed it were amazed. One member of the squad said that the unknown alien figure with the code name Ultraman had been known to astronauts for decades.

The interesting thing about the first episode of Ultraman Blazar is that this troop usually uses code names to refer to aliens or kaiju. Moreover, various scenes in this episode are played seriously by the cast.

Ultraman Blazar is tokusatsu series 2023 and the 33rd series of the Ultra Series, made by Tsuburaya Productions. The series is the first in the franchise to have each episode released in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese Mandarin, Thai, Indonesian, Malay and Hindi within a week of its original broadcast in Japan. Ultraman Blazar tells the story of Gento Hiruma finding his troops in a desperate situation. That's when a mysterious giant emerged from the light. An unknown humanoid alien that has been rumored among astronauts for decades, codenamed "Ultraman".

Gento Hiruma is summoned to the command center, officially appointed as the commander of SKaRD, the Special Kaiju Reaction Detachment. Leading a special unit piloting the giant Kaiju-type robot artillery, Earth Garon, to respond to the Kaiju disaster. Gento is ordered to investigate the Ultraman from the Battle of Bazanga, determining whether or not it is a threat that needs to be eliminated. Captain Gento, enveloped in the light of Ultraman Blazar, with the unique members of the newly organized SKaRD, throw themselves into battle against the Kaiju with fearless courage and an unwavering sense of justice.

The special unit Special Kaiju Reaction Detachment (SKaRD) will apparently be formed in episode 2 titled “The Man Who Formed SKaRD” and they will face the deep sea kaiju Gedos. Ultraman Blazar will start airing in Japan on July 8, 2023. Ultraman Blazar will start airing in Indonesia on July 14, 2023.
